Kheraf Khaneh, Shooshtar Kheraf Khaneh comprises of a series of crypts which have been made within the rocks on the outskirts of the city. There is a strong possibility that these crypts used to belong to Zoroastrians of the Medes and Parthian eras. According to public opinion, when in past the families were unable to take care of their elders, they used to keep them in these crypts, bringing them food and water at intervals of few days so that they spent the rest of their lives there, till death. Other Historical Monuments, Khuzestan These are called, Tow Ashiqoon (Ottaq-e-Ashiqan) and Kolah Farangi in Shooshtar, Taq-e-Nosrat-e-Sassani and Hormoz Sassani Tomb in Ramhormoz. |
